Synthpop covers (Depeche Mode mainly) and my own tracks. The only RUclips user who doesn't use 4k, intros or post-production on his videos. All in one take.

Updating an instrumental cover I had already recorded over a decade ago, in this case adding a Simmons tom at the end of the song as on the original version.
Gear used live:
Upper Left: Roland MRS-2 Promars.
Mid left: Roland JP8000
Upper right: Simmons SDS 8 analogue drum module (Note: the pad is not Simmons)
Bottom right: Roland D-10
Backtrack previously sequenced and recorded, instrument by instrument, by me, including a DX7 bassline.
Original song composed by Billy Currie, Christopher Payne, Midge Ure (I would add Steve Harrington, Rusty Egan and Richard James Burgess by their contribution too).

A riff that came to my head on yesterday's live streaming, played on a Roland JX-8P, as a sound demonstration. The sound reminds quite a lot the original Oberheim synth. Really enjoyed this cover. Also when I try and play the bassline on my microkorg the original recording of the song it sounds out of tune(the bassline) do you know if it was intentionally out of tune on the original song?
There usually are lot of differences in tune/timings when trying to cover a song. It depends of how it was digitalized, the player where it was taken from, if it was ripped from a vinyl or from a master tape (imagine how many micro variations in speed), etc.

Yamaha DX5 (see pinned comment from the owner of that very same synth), though it is a DX7 standard factory sound too.

Do they really sound that diffrernt in person or is RUclips's compression changing something?
They sound that way. However, testing the same bank can lead to confusion, as the filter settings aren't applied the same way on both (being SSM analogue on the I, and via DSP on the II)
